In more than 35 years at the helm of Arizona professional sports, Jerry Colangelo has earned Arizona’s first World Series Trophy and been named NBA Executive of the year four times. The former Suns owner and Diamondbacks managing partner was recently appointed to oversee the USA Men’s Olympic Basketball team.

In 1968 Colangelo moved to Phoenix with a dream to start an NBA team. “I was 27. I had a wife and three kids and nine suitcases,” he says. Now the Basketball Hall of Fame inductee also has a full portfolio of professional sports ownership, management, philanthropic causes and real estate. He recently found time to invite us in for a look around his office still located at the now U.S. Airways Center.
