Jeff Moorad
CEO of the Diamondbacks
This month, Jeff Moorad, the former big-hitter sports
agent who was bringing in top dollar for his clients and
now serving as the CEO of the Diamondbacks, welcomed
the Open Door crew in for a look around his office.
From the Willie Mays jerseys hanging on the walls
to the famous faces behind the picture frames on the
shelves, a couple of moments in Moorad’s office is a
dream come true for any baseball aficionado. However,
there was one photo about which Mr. Moorad had a lot to
say (number 10).
“This is probably one of the most interesting pictures.
This was back when Will Clark was a free agent in 1993 and
we signed with the Texas Rangers. They were still building
the stadium. If you know anything about baseball – or for
that matter, politics – you’ll see a younger looking agent,
the managing general partner of the Rangers at the time
who went on to great fame [referring to now-President
George Bush], my client Will Clark … Tom Schieffer who
is now the Ambassador to Japan.”
Moorad is truly living a charmed life and a few minutes
with the affable D-Backs leader, leaves one believing the
best may be yet to come.
