Here, Frank Lloyd Wright, America’s
most famous architect, spent his winters
designing world-famous structures.
Wright wintered at Taliesin West
in Scottsdale from 1937 until he passed
away in 1959.
Originally strictly a winter camp,
the tents at Taliesin West slowly
evolved into an organic structure
of native rocks, angles and colors,
inspired by the nearby mountains. In
1983, Taliesin West was adopted as
a National Historic Landmark. The
Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation still
maintains the facility and offers guided
