Bob Parsons privately owns Godaddy.com, with 1100 employees, over $100 million in annual sales revenue and a certain reputation for Super Bowl commercials.
Thirty-five years ago, Parsons was a young man serving in Vietnam and had never heard of a computer. After being awarded the Purple Heart and Cross of Gallantry, Parsons went to work in a steel mill near his family in Boston. Years later, he bought an early personal computer as a hobby. The self-taught entrepreneur has since turned his hobby and utilitarian business approach into one of the most recognizable and successful Internet companies in the world. Parsons recently invited The Times in for a look around his office.
