COIN 1 Has Been Found!
The coin hunt organizers, all one of him, thought would be the most difficult to find, has been brought into The Times offices. Once again, the finder is a past successful hunter. Bryan Steverson, who found Key #4 in the last hunt hidden on Silly Mountain east of Apache Junction, found Coin #1 early this morning.
Steverson once again went hunting on a mountain and found Coin #1 hidden under a rock just east of the parking lot at the end of T.V. Road which moseys past the T.V. towers atop South Mountain.
“I knew it was somewhere at South Mountain,” Steverson said. “I just didn’t know where.”
Steverson said that he was up early this morning and arrived at South Mountain at around 5 a.m. “I just knew after the clue was put on Twitter last night that somebody was going to be out there to find it,” he said.
Steverson said the part of the Twitter clue that gave it away was “the end of the road” reference which he said led him to believe it had to be either at the parking area near the T.V. towers or at Dobbins Point. “I went to Dobbins Point first and then I went over to the T.V. towers,” he said.
Congratulations Bryan! That was a great find.
There are still two coins out there somewhere. Based on calls we’ve taken at the office the competition is heating up and hunters are getting closer.
Good luck!
Clue #1 -
So you’re going after the booty, though some mystery we’ll weave. And of course, in the end, some questions we will leave.
Clue #2 -
One, two, three, I guess you’re looking for me. Uno, dos, tres, you’ll have to pass this place.
Clue #3 -
Finding Coin 1 is gonna take some doing, but somewhere south of a summit, you can certainly do some viewing.
Clue #4 -
You’ll have to pass a gulch to go up to the booty. If you stop and go inside, a predatory arthropod may be waiting to do its duty.
Clue #5 -
The April rain brought some May flowers and softened the look of giant towers.
